Happy New Year
Youth Empowerment Services, Inc. (Y.E.S.) would like to wish
everyone a blessed and prosperous new year. A new year offers
new opportunities for Y.E.S. to impact the lives of youths in
the tri-county and beyond in deeper and more meaningful ways.
The board, staff and volunteers at Y.E.S. know that in order
to accomplish this goal, we must focus on those challenges
that youths are facing daily.
New Vision and Mission for Youth Empowerment Services, Inc. (Y.E.S.)
Over the past years, Y.E.S. has received numerous requests
from community youths, young adults, and parents for programs
that focus on the empowering message of sexual purity. This
past year, the message came across loud and strong from our
program participants. After much prayer and wise counsel,
Y.E.S. has decided to change its vision and mission to give
specific focus and attention to the message of sexual purity
based on Christian principles. Research proves that embracing
and practicing a lifestyle of sexual purity has overwhelming
physical, emotional and spiritual benefits.
Vision: The vision of Youth Empowerment Services, Inc. is a
culture that embraces and practices a lifestyle of sexual
purity based on Christian principles.
Mission: The mission of Youth Empowerment Services, Inc. is to
empower youths and young adults to embrace and practice a
lifestyle of sexual purity based on Christian principles.
We aim to accomplish this mission through:
-
Empowering parents to effectively communicate the value of
sexual purity to their children.
-
Life-changing and thought-provoking programs and activities
that promote self-esteem, self efficacy, social and
emotional well-being, and community service.
-
Positive adult and peer motivation and mentoring.
-
Identifying, collaborating and networking with the faith
community and other organizations and individuals who are
working to improve the well-being of our youths.
We at Y.E.S. look forward to positive results as we carry out
this important mission in our community. Our goal this year is
to reach at least 1,000 youths and young adults with the
purity message.

Abundance of Blessings
This New Year began with an abundance of blessings for Youth
Empowerment Services. Over $5,000.00 was donated toward the
support of Y.E.S. in the past month. We would like to thank
the Phillips Family Fund and the Donor Advised Funds from the
Coastal Community Foundation as well as our many faithful
supporters and friends for their generous contributions.
One of our donors, Mr. Paul Heinaur, owner of Glasspro, Inc.
donated 1,800.00 to Y.E.S. through the Channel 2 "Three Degree
Guarantee" for the month of December. We are grateful for the
generosity of Mr. Heinaur and all that he does for our
community.
Christmas Party
On December 17th , the Sisterhood Ministry of Faith Assembly
of God Church partnered with Youth Empowerment Services to
sponsor a Christmas Party for the community. Over 50 children
and youths from the foster care system and those from
underprivileged homes received gifts and a wonderful meal that
was prepared by the Sisterhood Ministry. Mrs. Laura Droze and
Mrs. Susan Blackstone, members of the Sisterhood Ministry, and
Hannah Lund, the Y.E.S. VISTA volunteer, coordinated this
wonderful event.
Y.E.S. would also like to thank the BSA Boy Scouts Troop 469
for volunteering.
